Anyone want a lighting/thunder cloud in their living room? This is a serious ‘who’d have thought?’ pendant light designed and created (after hours of experimentation) by Richard Clarkson (who has a beautiful design blog, by the way). The Cloud Lamp is made of down fluff which covers cleverly coded electrical wires called an Arduino circuit. When prompted, the Arduino signals the 16-watt LED bulbs inside to flash and prompts a 2.1 sub-woofer to emit pre-recorded sounds of thunder. Genius!
I could live in this home – even though glass floors typically give me the heebie-jeebies! For starters it’s in Paris (a no-brainer), secondly it’s a fantastic conversion of 12 maid’s chambers by Ateliers Michael Herrman. The perfect mix of the old and the new.

I love these DIY painted vases. They look fun to do and fun to own! Hey, you could even make some for Christmas gifts …

Who’d have thought to decorate a wall with different coat hangars? UK textile and mixed media artist Karen Nicol did and why not? Kind of works.
[see more of her house and an interview with her at The Red Thread. P.S love the white peacock in the dining room!]
P.P.S I’d love to hear from anyone about original stuff going on in their home … Come on, I know you’re out there!
